“Of all women in the early period of modern poetry, perhaps the most important, though not as well known as Guduudo Arwo, was Guduudo Arwo. It was she who weathered the widespread criticism of women in modern poetry, and because of her resistance to the pressure of tradition and Somali culture, probably more than any other woman she established the “right” of women to recite the modern poem. Guduudo began to sing at first for political and entertainment rallies in 1950 and joined Radio Hargeisa with the help of Guroonjire and Belweeye in 1950s. Many artists and poets associated with the radio stations today have a high regard for her and consider her a pioneer in this field. She is one of the most respectful singers in Somaliland and Somalia and she deserves to be remembered as a legend of Somaliland and Somali theatres”.She is deserved to be remembered in our hearts.
